A Few Zoo Pictures... Well Maybe A Bunch :)

And were off. Most of the time when I head towards Memphis I try to take the kids to the zoo. The day I bought my new car I promised if they were good we would go to the zoo the next week. It ended up being quite a bit later because Josh wanted to go with us, the wait was worth it! I am so glad he has been able to go on quite a few trips with us!

Bull Elk

The kids love to sit here and watch the seals swim by. One came right up past the glass, unfortunately I wasn't at a good angel to catch it. They were thrilled!

Normally Josh is the best butterfly picture taker. They seem to pose for him.

The ostriches were very close to the fence. Tayler enjoyed watching them. And Brenden the thoughtful brother he is told her that it would spit on her.  Not sure about these but I know Emus will. I do know they don't have a reputation for being nice.

Ahh the giraffes and one happy little boy. He doesn't care if he sees anything else or not but he must visit his favorite!

And I can't remember the name of these above. This is the closest we have ever gotten to them though. Usually they are grazing far off in the field.

Tunica Field Trip

And of course their is always one that doesn't look. That is our Joshua! He was actually more worried about going back inside. He doesn't care for heights, even more so when there are holes in the floor. I was proud we got him in this picture, it felt as if you were over the water.

I think Brenden and Josh enjoyed the boat ride the most! Josh took a nap and Brenden wanted to be out on deck the whole time!

The Susan Kay... Was proud to have it all in one shot, thanks to the advice of a friend that said let it go past then see if you can get it. :) We took this field trip with a group of home schoolers in MS. Sure was nice having a discount. Josh surprised me by showing up at the house early that morning before we left. He had told me the night before I should ride with a friend and her son. I was hoping he might meet us there after work and we could ride home together as he was in Tennessee not to far away . Boy was a I shocked thinking he was still in the bed, when I heard Joshua hollering daddy getting ready that morning. We had a wonderful day!

Fresh Produce

Finally a squash or two. I planted these Memorial Day weekend. We are just now getting to reap our rewards after miracle grow! And jsut in time for cooler weather.UGH! I told Josh I was going to dig them up and put them in doors in plant pots. Of course he thinks I am crazy!
The sun was in their eyes here, they didn't mind until picture time :)

You can see the tiny egg that was above here. This egg was either from out littlest bantam, or a first time layer. Either way sure was "cute"
We are getting around 4 eggs a day now. The only not fun part is the arguing about who gets to collect the eggs. I think we need a schedule!

And there it is. Breakfast. Doesn't get any fresher.

Never a dull moment around here! Joshua left the back door open... The screen door was closed but Flash our Dalmatian had ripped out the top part during a storm a few years back. And this is what we found! Talk about delivery. :) And of course I had to document it I mean how often does a chicken come in and lay an egg in your clean folded pile of clothes? Well not my clothes these were the kids. Ha ha! Josh says we are like the Doo Little family, the kids and I anyway.

As soon as she laid she went right back outside.

End of Summer Fun

This was taken on the last swim in the pond for the season. After living here nearly 8 years this is the most they have played in it. Whew they drove me crazy wanting to get in every day!

The kids loved when Josh threw the rope and pulled them out(for fun). This is Tayler.

She is so light he could pull her fast and all the way out!
