Our trip to Arkansas, Missouri, and Tennessee
Well we are home for a little while. Josh came home a week ago and said his boss wanted him to go to Conway, AR. I was beyond excited as I have a wonderful friend that moved there from Grenada about a year ago. I knew right away I would be going. Josh had other thoughts :). But in the end he let us go. We left last Monday morning and took the 4 hour drive there. The kids did really well in the car! Josh dropped us off and headed for work. We immediately got to talking about school curriculum. Marcee made the best Sloppy Joes YUM, I don't get to eat things like that much as my family doesn't like tomato based stuff. After lunch and once the kids got antsy we took them to the pool they joined, it was really neat with slide and a mushroom fall. The kids weren't able to get in the pool with the slides though, as we were walking in the gate a mom told us someone had just upchucked in the pool. Umm YUCK! The life guards said give them 30 minutes and then we could use the pool. Um No Thanks. The kids still had a blast in the other pool! On the way back I got a tour of Conway a very nice but big town. I really loved down town! We went back to their house to wait on Josh. When he got back we went to a great Italian restaurant for dinner. Poor Marcie got a trey of water dumped down her back. The worse part was we had 6 kids at the table and the waiter was consistently cursing UGH. But we did get free appetizers and the kids got dessert out of it. Thanks Marcie. :) After dinner we walked down town. And then headed to the hotel room.
Marcie picked us up around 10 the next morning, we went to the park for a bit. We didn't stay long everyone was hot and thirsty. So we went through Sonic and got drinks and headed home for lunch yummy tacos, and more sloppy joe for me. Unfortunately Josh got done early and we had to cut our visit short and leave that afternoon. But we had a great visit and I am so happy for them. They really love it there.
Next we headed to Dyersburg,TN. We even drove over the MS river and through Missouri to get there which was neat, except for the bridge part. I really don't like bridges! Dyersburg was such a friendly town, people actually looked at you and smiled and spoke. Not something we get much of around here in Grenada. Our days there pretty much went: sleep in, get up just in time for free breakfast, after breakfast go to the pool and swim, then go back to the room for showers and get ready to eat lunch with Josh, after lunch come back watch tv after take a nap, wake up in time to go eat dinner with Josh. After dinner we went to the mall one night and to a family favorite of ours Tractor Supply, then more swimming to wear the kids out. One afternoon provided a pillow fight that got out of hand, apparently we disturbed guests and the hotel desk called. I think they were really just jealous they weren't having that much fun. It wasn't even late.
Basically I was in heaven the kids had a pool to play in and wear them out, we got to eat out (no cooking for me) and someone to clean our room! And the best part was getting to spend time with Josh. 'Sorry I don't have pics to share, I really wish I had taken some! But here is a cute one of Joshua after eating chocolate this month.
