I called our fellow home school friends The Viner's to see if they would like to take an afternoon walk with us. They said yes and would we mind going along to check a geo cache they had made to make sure all was still intact. We made it to the cache and back to the road fairly quickly, as we could see a storm closing in on us. Since it hadn't quite reached us we decided to walk along the beach boat ramp nearby. As you can see the sand was really kicking up across the way. I was taking pictures not paying attention, when Shonna said um guys I think the storm is fixing to hit us. About that time the sand started swirling all around us. The wind was blowing so hard it hurt, we had to shield our eyes and keep ours mouths closed. We ran like crazy, kids shouting, some falling(bless their hearts!) fighting wind and sand all the way back to the cars. It was an experience none of us will soon forget. Not an all around bad one just memorable.
This was taken after making it back to our cars, wish you could see how the leaves were falling. Right after this we jumped in our cars and the bottom fell out! Praise God for the rain! Shonna really had me reflecting on something later as she told our story at church. I am always in awe of Gods beauty in the things he creates for us in nature. In this instance she said it really made her reflect on Gods power and control. It definitely gave a new perspective. Of course you always think of it in disasters. But in just a "typical" storm?
