A Surpise and Snack Time...

NUGGET

As if you haven't noticed already I love this guy! I have always loved roosters and this one is super sweet not to mention he takes great pictures! Still looking for a home for the other rotten 3. He gave us a scare the other night, we got home later than usual. I left the dogs inside while we were away because the battery was dead in Aroara's collar. When driving up we could see there was a chicken in the grass. I assumed it was dead and something had gotten it. The kids and I jumped out and did a head count, Nugget was missing. My first thought was why couldn't something have gotten the other 3, why him? The roosters stay out at night to give the hens a break. I sent Josh and Brenden to investigate and get him. I couldn't bare to go down there. Josh called for me saying he is alright. I was thinking he meant that the scene wasn't to bad. But nope, Nugget was hunched in the grass sleeping. Apparently he didn't make it home before dark, instead he flattened himself like a pancake in the grass and went to sleep. Boy was I glad and so was he when I took him to his buddies.

The hens will run anytime they see me outside expecting a snack. It is really hard to get a good picture as they are all right on top of us when we feed them, trying to be the firstest with the mostest.  The black(Butterfly), and red(Griffin) are always the fasted and will holler the loudly if you aren't giving them enough to get your attention.

We were feeding them leftover flour tortillas.
Sometimes they steal a big chunk and run like crazy, though they don't get far and someone steals it from them.

My what a big mouth you have Garlic.

As you can see Garlic is a pig while Ginger is patient and ladylike.

Headed back in the pond.
