Happy Halloween 2009

My Indian, Barbie Princess, and Spiderman. Ps Josh and I made the Indian costume last year. :)
The kids attending a Halloween birthday party at McDonalds. It was pretty neat face painting, pumpkin painting, cookie decorating, and costume parade with contest.
Joshua with their bounty. We went to a few houses after the party and they each filled their buckets up quickly!

Fall Walk 2009

We have never done this trail before, I was avoiding it after hearing how tough it was. The kids were up for it and we were looking for something new so we braved it. I am so proud of them for toughing it out! After all the hiking we did on vacation I knew they could handle it.
Right when we got on the trail.
A rare picture of me Joshua was to busy to participate. Ha Ha
Here is Tayler with my first baby Cynder, he will be 10 next week. We had to carry him up the stairs they were so steep.
The boys look really thrilled here don't they? They were worn out! I really enjoyed this trail and would love to do it again. I don't think that I will be talking them into doing this one again though. We had fun it was just a bit long and rough for them. Didn't help that we were rushing to get before dark either.

Fall 2009

This is my favorite tree in the fall, this was taken on the back of out our pond. I love the colors fall brings and look forward to seeing this tree every year. I also like to take the kids on a fall nature walk every year to see and play in all of the leaves but am thinking this year it may not happen due to all of our rain.

Tayler and Eggs

Sooo the other day Tayler casually asks me about hatching eggs, I don't remember the conversation but I remember the hatching an egg part. Fast forward to a week or two later. I am cleaning her room out closets, drawers and all. And the last drawer I come to she has a blanket the I crocheted for her babies I pull it out and feel something inside it, and guess what I find an egg.! Tayler Rayn I say what is this doing in here? Mommy noooo is the response I get I am trying to hatch and egg. I could not help but laugh! Baby I say you can't hatch an egg like this it has been in the refrigerator and the rooster did not fertilize it. There are days and memories like these that make my job worthwhile!

Saying From Joshua

I was doing things on my computer, Joshua was on my lap. He says I want to do that. I say you have to wait until you get bigger and he says I am bigger look at my pants!
Earlier Tayler was in his closet trying to help him find clothes for the day and she came to tell me all his pants were to big. I informed her they fit just fine and put a pair on him. I think this is what he was referring to he has bigger pants so he is bigger :).
I thought it was cute and I would share. It made me smile!

Chipmunk

Or as Tayler Rayn says chick munk. I came out of the office and looked out the living room window to see Tayler and Joshua with a plastic bag in the front yard. I go out to the porch to investigate and they are trying to put a chipmunk in the plastic bag. They have rescued it from the cat and then the dogs. I inform them a plastic bag will not do. We get a towel wrapping it up securing it in a box. There are no visible injuries. After calling my mom our animal expert we realize once the "chickmunk" has rested there will be no containing it and we DO NOT want it lose in the house. After a bit my mom and I both convince Tayler to take the box to the woods to leave her (Tayler thinks this is a girl) until she is rested. I promise to take pictures for her. And we get this one, upon opening the box out jumps the "chickmunk" she runs towards Tayler and then to Joshua down the hill and off in the woods. Tayler burst into tears, there is no picture of her "chickmunk"! That little bugger was fast and I am sooo glad it did that outside. She was devastated she missed the little one and wanted to keep it I told her they were not pets and that they were wild creatures and finally got her calmed down? So when her daddy comes home he wants to make sure we really found a chipmunk (he thinks they don't exist on our property) he looks it up on the Internet and finds pictures with people holding them as pets. Thanks dad, now instead of a horse for Christmas she would like a chipmunk. At least we are getting smaller. :)

Pumpkin Carving Time 2009

Before the carving. Joshua says hmm how are we doing this again? This is his first time at a carving, he was taking a nap last year.
And here is what he thinks about it. He covered his mouth and nose and said YUCKY! He was willing to watch for a few minutes and then he was out of there until the cleaning out was done. He was all about wanting to have a little saw though to cut the pumpkin. He wasn't happy when mommy said he has to get bigger first.
This is the first year Brendens' stomach has held up and he actually cleaned his pumpkin out! Woo Hoo! He was such a week stomach. Gets it from his Grandmommy!
Tayler carving for the first time. She said I was all excited I finally get to carve and ya know what this is boring. HA HA!
Mommy did most of the cleaning and helped Tayler carve hers, daddy drew all the faces and carved Joshuas, and Brenden carved his all by himself!
And here they all all lit up on the porch. My camera was on auto, takes a good pic in the dark. I am going to have to change the settings to show them lit up in the dark.

Think we need an extra dog bed.?

Mom why didn't you get me one to? I orginally got one for Big(yellow lab) so he would quit tearing up my rugs making beds. Looks like Aroara(Rotty) needs one to.
And she makes it on, shoving poor Big with his nose in the corner.

Brens First Wreck

Trying to turn around in 3 gear, (big no no in small spot) he laid it down in the mud. He was fine, Daddy was out there and helped him get up and going again.
Here he is with helmet head doing great!
I LOVE Joshuas' smile here!

7 Continents Cake

Joshua tasting mommies home made icing.
Tayler Rayn icing the ocean, and tasting.
Brenden filling in the continents. He said he didn't like cake making. It was to hard. Guess he won't follow in his moms hobby. ;)
With their finished project. This was a geography project.
Mommy had to help out a little. North America looking pretty rough. HA HA.

Storytime Homeschool Style

We check out tons of books every two weeks from the library, and read at lest 2 or 3 every afternoon after lunch. The boys made this blanket fort and the hid in it while I read today. Today's theme was Halloween books.

Joshuas' Preschool Learning Poster

I started a free online preschool curriculum with Joshua this week.
http://www.letteroftheweek.com/Preparatory.html
We will study a shape, color, letter, number, nursery rhyme, animal and vocabulary word each week with a theme. This weeks theme was a cow. After we do our work he likes to play on my computer with me doing preschool games.

They call me toothless!

Number 5 bites the dust. I pulled Bren's tooth yesterday. I usually have to pull them, the tooth under the gum is always so deep, and there is usually a tooth growing under it.

And He Rides Again

I love this picture! After months of rain Brenden has only gotten to ride just a few times.
Little brother watches in anticipation of the day he will ride. He loves to watch Bren.

Joshua -Out Of The Mouth Of Babes

While watching Mary Poppins this morning Joshua said I want to go there. If ya'll drop me off there I will be good for they. Mommy is it very far to get there?
Looks like fun wish I could be as good Mary Poppins!

Pumpkin Patch 2009

Left to Right
Anissa, Brenden, Joshua, James, Tayler
Brenden at 4 1/2 feet.
Tayler Rayn at almost 4 feet.
Joshua a little under 3 1/2 feet, he wasn't standing straight up. I thought it would be neat to show how tall they have gotten. :)
My awesome sister in law Jaimie!
And I needed this one as proof to all of those who really don't believe I am 5 foot 1. :)
On the way to the pumpkin patch on the hay ride with the driver.

At the Pirate Ship. This is pretty much what they did the whole time, man they had some energy.
I love this one of Joshua. So happy to pick a pumpkin!
And here it is. My rule is you can get any pumpkin you want as long as you can tote it. Well of course I helped a little I carried Taylers and she carried Joshua's.
Poor Tayler dropped hers in the mud, or maybe poor mommy as I had to carry it muddy and all. It took her so long to pick just the right one we couldn't leave it!
And last but not least Bren with his pick of the patch.
We also got to visit a petting zoo, ride a tractor train, watch a chicken show, go through a hay maze and a corn maze, along with play at a cool playground. What a fun day!

Soccer October 2009

Bren waiting for a play.

Here Hunter is kicking the ball, Bren is standing watching, and Dylan is in the goal. This was them playing around before the game.

Here are 5 of the boys with their coach. Bren is squatting down by coach. This on is right before the game. It is to hard to get a pic of them playing as our games have started after twilight, but I am trying.

And wait there is more!

Due to a water bill that doubled this month we realized we have another leak. This time it is actually a water pipe leak. Josh was able to isolate it and we found out this one is in the yard. Somewhere in 300 feet of pipe. We have dug up 150 feet to find out that we have under ground rain water springs. Six times we got exciting thinking ok this is it this is the leak. Wrong! Each time the more water we bail the more it filled up due to the spring and the ground being so saturated. So we have to wait until it dries a bit. Not that that will happen so as we have 10 days of rain predicted. Even though all of this we will continue to praise God. We have so much to be thankful for! We have a home and running water and just the fact that we are able to do this our selves!
