Bonfire

Jay Brenden and James waiting on a fire cracker to pop.
I love this picture of my Joshua's! You can see how much fun they were having!
Left to Right Jay, James, Josh, Joshua, Brenden, Rodney, Kate, and Tayler Rayn.
If Tayler Rayn was sitting this is where she was snuggled up with Uncle Rodney. Joshua calls him Uncle Rodney.
Joshua says whew it is hot. He spent most of his time picking up sticks and throwing them in the fire.
I got some really pretty pictures of the fire. This was the first time I had tried taking pictures like this.
I had Josh stoke it,( u can barely see him in the background) to make fireflies for me.
Loving the colors in this, can't believe true they turned out.
Was so much fun and I am ready to have another one!

It Was A Happy Thanksgiving

Great Grandmother Dismukes' buttermilk brownies, yeast rolls, deviled eggs, gravy, garlic and cheese mashed potatoes, smoked ham(by Josh) and green bean casserole.
Cream corn, fall leaf cookies, sweet potato casserole, Joshs' dressing, turkey, and chocolate pecan pie.
Kate, James, and Brenden.
Josh, Jay(blue jacket), Joshua, Tayler Rayn, and Rodney(orange shirt).
Better picture of Jay and Josh.
Jay, Rodney and Kate drove all night Wednesday and got here about 5:30 am. They were able to stay with us until Sunday about mid morning. We had a great time! Lots of Wii was played, hide and go seek, playing with fire crackers, fishing in the pond, watching movies, eating tons of good food, and we even had a bonfire! Josh and Rodney also changed the timing belt on my truck in the midst of all this. Which made me a happy girl, I love my truck!

New Hair

Mommy and Brenden got lots of hair cut off. I had wanted to donate my hair to Locks of Love but they now require 10 inches. WOW! I got about 5 inches cut off mine, and Brendens' is much shorter now to, we are trying to spike it a bit he wants to go with the messy look. That is taking practice!

Brenden's drawing himself.

Brenden decided to go patriotic.

Brendens' foot, and his mommy can now wear his shoes!

Above our pictures of our about me books. I did one in kindergarten and my mom saved it. I thought it was a neat keepsake and a fun craft activity. We had fun doing them! Joshua and I are doing and Abc, shape, color, and number books also for preschool. I haven't had a chance to post much about school, we stay so busy just getting it done. We are learning about maps and visiting different places in geography we have done USA, and Mexico. In Science we are studying ecosystems and animal habitats. Bren is adding and subtracting triple digits, and carrying over numbers in math. Tayler is really coming along on her reading, I am super proud of her! Math seems to be both her and Brens favorite subject with science and geography in a close second. I myself am relearning English all over again. And Bren is learning cursive, I think he writes better in cursive than in manuscript!

Fall Picnic At "The Cannon Trail" November 2009

The weather was so nice today, perfect for a picnic. I wanted to take the kids on this trail before fall was over. They love to play on the cannons. James my nephew is here visiting for Thanksgiving break, we were so glad to have him along!

First Ducks of the Season

It is hard to get a close up shot of these guys. They are very ski-dish, and my camera doesn't have the best zoom for far away.
They are called Hooded Mergansers.

Kristys Fall Creations

And finally my Granny Smith apple pie. These apples are the ones that I got from Blue Ridge GA. This was my first attempt. Turned out great!

Yummy!
A baby blanket I crocheted for my cousin Bridget's new baby girl, Madison Ilene Ellis. It was actually folded in half, I couldn't get far enough away to talk a full size picture. I loved the colors!

Lost Bluff with The Whole Party

A great pic of Joshua so proud of himself, doing the stairs like a big boy.
Look at these stairs! Talk about good exercise. Can u see the top way up in the tress. WOW!
An overlook. We have never seen the view from this side. We are usually driving over on the dam. You can see Grenada Lake behind the bridge.
She is a leaf rain deer.
My threesome sitting on a lookout with the Yalubusha River behind them.
Love pictures taken behind my guys walking. Can u tell? :)
Brothers holding hands, so sweet. By this time Joshua was worn out! We told him if he walked the whole way he would get a treat when we got home.(instead of us carrying him)
The kids being silly with Mommy.

Pipe Update

Our Big dog and Aroara taking a break from working to play catch. Brenden says Big is looking more like a chocolate lab than a yellow lab.
One of our craw fish from the hole.

Well after two days straight of hard work we have no water leak. PRAISE GOD! I called Josh Friday and told him we had plans for the weekend and he said oh yeah what? I told him we just got a $100 water bill, they usually run about $25. We were trying to wait until money wasn't so tight but that water bill was going to break us! I am going to go to the water dept. tomorrow, the water meter reader said they will adjust it for us. (Fingers Crossed) So 300 feet of digging, baling water and mud and $200 later we are fixed. We had to lay new pipe due to not being able to find the leak with all the rain and standing water. My house and yard are a disaster. Mud everywhere! I will share pictures of the yard but not the house . Ha Ha! Praising God again for holding the rain off, and making it a beautiful day. We caught 3 craw fish in one water hole. We saw a flock of snow geese flying over the house we were really hoping that they would land in the pond, they didn't maybe next time.
